We are so excited to announce that JLG will now offer the option of adding RFIDs (Radio Frequency Identification) to your order when you choose shelf-ready processing.
What are RFIDs?
An RFID is a tag that we place inside your book that is scanned by an external reader. This tag is permanently attached to the book and contains all its information. These tags do not damage the book, do not require a power source, and do not need to be updated or replaced.
Libraries equipped with RFID technology usually have scanners at their main desks, self-check-out kiosks, and at the entrance/exit of their libraries. When a book is passed through these scanners, it is automatically documented as checked in or out.
What are the benefits of RFIDs?
RFIDs can improve the speed, ease, and accuracy of the check-out process in your library. RFIDS also open the possibility of self-checkout and can detect when a book has been removed from the library without being checked out. Because of this, they are an invaluable tool for monitoring your library’s inventory.
